For a major client we designed a tin can that is suitable for packaging ice-cream. The can is filled with ice-cream and then closed with a coloured plastic lid. The colour of the lid indicates the content and the flavour (e.g. yellow=banana, red=strawberry etc.). The filled can is placed in the refrigerator. The tin can is coated on the inside (FDA approved) and it has gold lacquer on the outside (also FDA approved). Every part of the packaging is now protected so there is no possibility of any reaction of humidity and the tinplate of the can. This is a very important feature because the ice-cream tin cans go in and out of the freezer several times.
